This years Fabulous Fords Forever! all-Ford car show took place on Sunday, April 19 from 10 until 3. The event-sponsored by The Ford Car Club Council, Western Region-was held, as always, at Knott's Berry Farm's Independence Hall parking lot-right across the street from from the famous theme park in Buena Park, California.
It may be all Fords, but that still leaves room for 56 different classes encompassing all makes and models of Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln domestic vehicles, cars powered by Ford engines (Cobras, Panteras, Sunbeam Tigers, Merkurs, et cetera), and those manufactured overseas under the Ford Motor Company banner, in such countries as Australia, Cananda, the UK, France, and Germany. The largest group dedicated to a specific make and model was Mustangs, now covering 45 years of manufacture. Other big groups were Cobras, Thunderbirds, 1967-75 Broncos, and Galaxies.
Each year, a particular vehicle or truck mileston is spotlighted celebrated. This year, special attention was split three ways: on the 45th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, the 70th anniversary of the Mercury brand, and the 50th anniversary of the Ford Galaxie model/platform.
As in the past, this year's event featured many factory displays of new Ford models, historical and contemporary high-performance vehicle displays, and information booths operated by various Ford vehicle clubs and organization. In addition, racing and builder celebrities in attendance including Chip Foose and Steve Saleen, who signed autographs for specatators attending the event.
