I'll admit it; I'm not keen on getting up early to line up outside a show at 4 or 5 a.m. And while plenty of people do just that to ensure they get their preferred parking area at the Mooneyes Christmas Party (and plenty of other shows too), I've found it just as easy to arrive around 9 a.m. and drive right into the show without waiting in line. Not this year however, as the line stretched at least a mile down the street, even at my "respectable" arrival time. Luckily, for once I had a press pass in my possession, allowing me into the show, otherwise I'd have been parking out in the parking lot with many other show-worthy rides. Yep, it seems this show has reached the capacity of the immense Irwindale Speedway venue.

While much of the rest of the country, nay, the northern hemisphere, has finished its show season long before December, here in sunny SoCal this show marks the end of our season a couple of weeks before Christmas, firing up again six weeks later at the Grand National Roadster Show. Not much downtime to build cars in admittedly, but we somehow live with it!
