Now if Larry owns so many because he couldn't make up his mind on whether he wanted a coupe, truck, or other vehicle, I have no idea. But what I do know is that he has two rockers in his garage, and he is a true ROD & CUSTOM fan (he's been reading it 40 years now, YEAH!). Let's get down to business now...the coupe is sporting a 350 Chevy with a four-speed transmission and Camaro subframe and rearend for the ultimate in performance. Touching on the vanity issue, this not-so-shy coupe has a shaved hood and trunk lid, Oldsmobile one-piece windshield, and Grand Am seats and console. The truck also rocks the Camaro subframe with a Chevy 350 and auto trans. The rearend's a Chevy four-bar with coil spring suspension. The top's been chopped 4 1/2-inch, hood and door handles have been shaved, and a '54 bed and fenders have also been added. Hmmm...I wonder which Larry will drive today?

Les is a surgeon in the 82nd Airborne Division and is now stationed in Afghanistan, and when the day is done, Les still, some way and some how, keeps up to date with the street rod scene. He's constantly looking for ideas in his never-ending passion of building his own street rod. As you can see, this ain't no ordinary Chevy truck; this baby has had some serious customizing. For starters Les has swapped out the stock frontend for a '37 Chevy pickup frontend. Not only that, but Les had also chopped the top to create a convertible, added suicide doors, shortened the bed with a molded tailgate, dropped in a 350/350 combo with electronic ignition, and reupholstered it in tweed interior. I wonder what's next? I guess only Les knows, but one thing's for certain, just think how sweet it's going to be when Les gets home and fires that bad boy up!

I mean, let's think about what it takes to own such a toy...you have to work on it, cherish it, love it, spend time with it, and make many sacrifices for it-for instance, sleeping in the doghouse for a month and eating McDonald's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all because the wife wasn't too thrilled when you came home with that pile of metal. Well, at least that's the case with Gary. It was all downhill in his domestic lifestyle after he bought this puppy, but that's sometimes the price we pay-just take a look at this car! His '62 Bird has been nosed, decked, shaved, lowered 2 inches, and painted a mix of PPG Silver Mink and Frost Blue. On top of that she sports Torq-Thrust II wheels, a balanced and blueprinted 390 with Tri-power, a COMP cam, and well, to be honest with you, just way too much to name. But on a good note Gary writes us, "After a rocky beginning, I am starting to have some fun with it!"
