Most of you have already heard the story of Regret, Dennis Lesky's '32 Tudor with a history as long as hot rodding. It was a race support vehicle. It was a drag car. It was a street car. It was a drag car again. It lay dormant. When Dennis bought it in 1979, he went through the whole car, rebuilding it for the street, and drove it as a family car throughout the '80s. All of a sudden in the last few years, the survivor sedan has been getting a lot of attention-becoming one of the longest-living overnight sensations in hot rodding. In our feature story on Regret three months ago, we said, "The next time you drive by the Ionia Hot Rod Shop, look for the legendary red sedan parked out front, waiting for Dennis Lesky to write the next chapter in this story."
Since then, Dennis made some changes to the front suspension and rolling stock, and drove the sedan from Michigan to the L.A. Roadsters Show-stopping at the El Mirage dry lake to play, live a little history, and write that next chapter. Here's Dennis' son and co-worker, Matt Lesky, running Regret across the lake. Matt was the little kid on the left in the main photo of our story on the car. He's changed a lot since that photo was taken. The car hasn't.
