The Arizona desert offers its inhabitants a different kind of beautyyes, its the poetic path thats less traveled because of its climatic extremes, but its also a path with a forlorn beauty that will deeply imprint your soul.
Desert dwellers Jan and Gary Riley have been an integral part of the Arizona rod scene for decades. As former President of the Relics and Rods, the Rileys created The Run to the Sun and turned it into one of the Southwests most popular and well-attended rod runs. Currently, the Rileys are members of the Dukes of Ludlow car club.
What you see before you is no desert mirageits a steel Deuce sedan delivery that has been heavily massaged by a crew of talented craftsmen. Jim Norman, Rod Palmer, Vic Kitchens, and Mike Bell assisted Jan and Gary along the way to create a different kind of hot rodone that reminds us of a Tom Daniel sketchpad from the past. It may be unconventional, but there are enough awards and trophies on the Rileys mantle to validate their design choices. As we said, the desert offers a path thats less traveled, but as colorful and beautiful as any on earth.
