Fortunately, this way of thinking has become as scarce as a 43 Henway, as killer wagons have been making the scene more frequently and proving the naysayers wrong. People are now taking as many liberties with their long-roofed wonders as they have with every other kind of buildable car. Whether its mild or spicy, high-tech or low-buck, wagons are finally gaining the respectability they deserve as suitable raw material for a custom.
Tony Aguilar took the road less traveled in building his mild 58 Chevy wagon. When he originally purchased the car at the Pomona Swap, his plan was to turn it for a quick buck. But once his wife Debbie got a good look at it, she convinced Tony to build it. Always the good husband, Tony tore through the car and had it ready in just over four months. Since then, the Aguilars have done nothing but enjoy their mild custom wagon, taking it to shows all over California.
