Big Daddy's Rides
www.mrgasser.com
It that the Obitron or the Mysterion? Which came first, Outlaw or Beatnik Bandit? Do you love Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's show cars but just can't remember which one is which, or what came before what? Prior to his death in 2001, Roth came up with the idea for a poster and a Web site displaying illustrations of his show cars. This is that Web site. It features all 24 of Roth's wild creations, from Little Jewel, built in 1959, through Stealth 2000, built 40 years later. The site also includes information about Big Daddy and the unique technique he created to build these cars. The show cars poster is also available for sale on this fun site.
Metal Marvels
www.metalshapers.org
Metalshapers.org is the Web site of the Metalshapers Association, which includes many areas of metalwork. Clicking on the Enter button takes you to pages specifically aimed at street rodding. Here you'll find features on individual bodywork projects, sheetmetal techniques, English wheel construction, tips and tricks from bodybuilding pros Ron Covell and Ron Fournier, shop tours, events listings, and lots more. There is even a message forum, which doesn't seem to have become very popular yet, along with links to sites relating to metal shaping, drag racing, and even blacksmithing.
Fifties Cads and Mopars
www.cherrysoda.com
Despite the odd site name and the pin-up gal on the opening page, this site is all about '57 Cadillacs and '55 Plymouths. The '57 Caddy section is loaded with data on options, colors, serials, and more, such as ads, hearses, and a tailfin spotter's guide. The Plymouth section has much the same type of information, including paint, interior, and safety features, as well as ads, documentation, and links to other sites. Both halves of this cool site are loaded with photos, technical and trivial information, and loads of links to other related Web sites.
