Just wanted to show you some photos of a one-off custom car I bought in California in June. It is a 1962 Thunderbird built in 1968-69 by a custom car builder Cay Wilson that I would like to know more about. He should have had his shop in Ohio and used this car as his personal transport for many years. He called the car a Starbird because the roof section came from a Ford Starliner. The side and rear windows and the interior came from a 1965 Thunderbird. Other than the major roof change the car is basically all stock.
The seller could not tell me more about Cay Wilson and it would mean a lot to me to know more about this car's past. Do you think any of your readers might know more? Any old photos of the car would be highly interesting to see.
The car was restored in California in 2006 and was showed at some shows after the restoration was completed. It came to Denmark in August 2008 and is a big pleasure to drive and own.
I would love to correspond with anyone who could shed some light on the cars history.
