Scott Whitaker of Dynamat beta out some stiff competition and earned the Go for the Gold award and the $20,000 cash that goes along with it at Darryl Starbird's National Rod & Custom Car Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 22, 2009. His '50 Mercury called the Merrodder was designed by Larry Erickson and built by Larry Kramer. The Go for the Gold award was chosen from a field of nine unbelievable vehicles from throughout the USA. These vehicles were all awarded a "Fine Nine Trophy" for being a part of this prestigious competition. Starbird's Tulsa show is in its 45th annual presentation and the Go for the Gold $20,000 cash prize is in its 6th annual presentation. Tulsa is the largest indoor car show in the country having over 1000 vehicles in competition.
