Art gallery exhibit openings aren't usually our bag, but when the gallery is Gasoline in El Segundo, California, and the artist is hot rod photographer Tim Sutton (and there's free beer and not little glasses of wine) we made an exception and dragged ourselves out to this pretty little town jammed between an oil refinery and LAX airport on March 7th!
Tim's a hot rodder, having run a shoebox Ford as well as a couple of roadster pickups, the latest featuring on the flyer for his exhibit, and just happens to take a mean picture too. If you check out his website at www.hotrodsuttonphoto.com you'll find a bunch of new car photography in the 'Automotive' section, which is what Tim does to earn a crust, but in the 'Lifestyle' section you'll get a feel for his hot rod work. With half of the photography on show at the Artist's Reception selling on the night, we'd say the subject matter went over pretty well, though the exhibit runs until April 11 should you find yourself near LA airport before then. Gasoline also includes a kustom kulture store with clothing and other merchandise.
