It was with great sadness that the NSRA recently reported the untimely death of Joe Mayall, longtime editor of StreetScene, the National Street Rod Association's monthly news publication. Joe had been at the helm for thirty years and was an active street rodder, known by many throughout the rodding world.
To carry on the torch the NSRA recently announced that Tom Vogele will take Joe's place as editor of StreetScene magazine.
If Tom's name sounds familiar to you it's probably due to his twenty-year involvement with Street Rodder magazine. Tom began his career with Street Rodder as a staff member in 1980. After several years he moved on to work for Boyd Coddington where he had a hand in building numerous AMBR winners and eventually opened his own shop where he built the infamous Project 40 "World's Fastest Street Rod" in 1985. In 1987 Tom returned to Street Rodder as editor, a position he held for ten years before being promoted to Vice President/Group Publisher, overseeing many automotive titles you are probably familiar with such as Rod & Custom, Popular Hot Rodding, Super Chevy and a dozen others.
We welcome Tom back to the publishing business as he ushers in a new era for the National Street Rod Association.
