The week of May 29 to June 8 saw Chamber of Commerce weather and a record crowd turn out to see Australia's leading annual Retro Nostalgia Festival, Wintersun.
The Wintersun Street Parade of floats, bands and fun left North Kirra at 9:45am on Saturday June 6th and travelled along Marine Parade to Greenmount, Coolangatta. All day Saturday and Sunday the parks and streets of Coolangatta were filled with about 1,500 hot rods, classics and customs as well as entertained by 80 bands and performers.
This week long event held in the border towns of Coolangatta and Tweed Heads features over 1,500 pre-1974 vehicles, street parades, live entertainment, auctions, cruising and a massive selection of stalls selling everything from speed equipment to beehive hairdo's.
