Heidts Hot Rod & Muscle Car Parts is pleased to announce new ownership as of September 16, 2010. Wallace (Wal) Leyshon has purchased Heidts and will assume the role of President/CEO from Frank Happ who is returning to support his former business. Mr. Leyshon indicates, "I am excited about growing the original Heidts brand and products and expanding its markets." Gary Heidt, founder and former owner of Heidts, welcomes Wal "as a fellow car guy" and looks forward to working with him in growing the Heidts hot rod, muscle car and performance product lines again. Gary will rejoin the management team and support new product development and market efforts. Kenny Brown, long time Mustang racing icon comments, "It is great to have a guy with such business experience and a passion for cars taking the reins with Gary Heidt and moving the company into a new and promising future".
Wallace has been involved in the automotive and industrial businesses for nearly twenty years as a supplier of technology and performance components. As company Founder and CEO, he created three global businesses from scratch and grew them to successful enterprises. Prior to this, he served as division general manager for Motorola's Automotive and Industrial Electronics Group (AIEG), and was responsible for global operations. His passion for cars started with his father "Bud Leyshon," who worked in the automotive business for 40 years and collected and rebuilt cars dating back to the 30's and 40's, including a rare 1939 Graham Paige Supercharged Model 97 and several old Ford roadsters. Wal caught "Chrome Fever" and rebuilt several cars, including a mint 1965 Mustang and 1969 GTO convertible.
Heidts leadership team has an aggressive plan to expand the current product engineering capabilities and Internet and marketing services. Special focus will be given to supporting and expanding the loyal and long time Heidts dealer team. The staff and employees of Heidts Hot Rod & Muscle Car Parts are looking forward to serving our dealers and market with expanded resources and several new and exciting products, which will be soon featured in industry magazines including coverage of the recent Super Chevy Suspension & Handling Challenge. The Challenge provided an opportunity to showcase the performance and value of Heidts' new High Horsepower Independent Rear Suspension. This product is just the beginning of a new and exciting line of high performance front and rear suspension systems for our hot rod and muscle car segments. Be sure to stay tuned for more developments from the dynamic new Heidts Team!
