Roger Ritzow and his Rad Rides by Troy-built '56 Chrysler of Franklin, WI, took top honors, winning the Go For The Gold award with its $20,000.00 cash at Darryl Starbird's 47th Annual National Rod & Custom Car Show in Tulsa, OK. The $20,000.00 cash award Go for the Gold is a complex award, as it is the combination of creativity, workmanship, execution, and individual design with imagination. The winner was chosen from a field of nine unbelievable vehicles from throughout the US (Jerry Klich's '25 Ford from Pontoon Beach, IL; Richard Udell's '32 Ford roadster from Big Fork, MT; Brent Schieder's '37 Ford cabriolet from Pleasanton, CA; Bob & Deanna Reed's '32 Ford sedan from Poteau, OK; Russ Freund's '23 T from Post Falls, ID; Buck Wilson's '40 Mercury from McAlester, OK; Allan Clark's '61 Imperial from Chowchilla, CA; Doug Weigel's hand-built '19 T from Albuquerque, NM). These vehicles were all awarded a Fine Nine Trophy for being a part of this prestigious competition. Schieder's cabriolet was also the winner of Darryl's Personal Choice award, and the Hall of Fame choice went to the unbelievable Takeout T owned and built by Russ Freund.
