R&C Dream Car of the Month Charlie and I have drawn a lot of hot rods in our time. From our Barn Studio springs, here are some ideas for our dream shop “studio” truck.
1933 Ford Roadster Pickup

The 1933 Ford roadster pickup has a track roadster nose—a much more severe rake to the leading front edge of the grille opening. Attached to the nose are batwings to cover the axle and house the recessed King Bee headlights. Special curved louvers are in the hood side panels. It has a set of Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels with big ’n’ little red line tires. A way-laidback Stanley Wanlass Deuce roadster windshield by Rodware would be the only choice for the front glass.
1932 Ford Sedan Delivery

With a chopped, major frontend suspension drop, it has a large side exhaust and Sanderson Limefire headers that are accentuated by a set of flames. It has steelies with big ’n’ little wide whites and beauty rings with truck ’caps.
1940 Chevy Car/ Closed-Cab Pickup Coupe

This 1940 Chevy pickup has a severe chop and rake to the windshield. Further touches are removing the wind wings and tunneling headlights. The bed would be from ’50s GM pickup with widened fenders to accommodate huge back tires mounted on steelies with beauty rings and a handmade exhaust tip. A dynamic flame job with colors keep the overtone of the “CARtoon” look.
