With the resurgence in popularity of the Chevrolet "W" engines, PerTronix announced their new plug-and-play billet distributor for these applications, including the 348, 409, and Z11 427, which is designed to provide maximum ignition performance and easy installation. This distributor allows you to upgrade your outdated points or worn-out aftermarket components with a performance-proven distributor that features the patented Ignitor II electronic ignition module and a CNC-machined 6061-T6 polished billet housing, and features a simple two-wire hook-up with no external components required.
The Flame-Thrower distributors are available with or without vacuum advance, while the PerTronix electronics are compatible with any inductive ignition system coil, but high-rpm performance can be improved when used with their low-resistant (0.6 ohm) Flame-Thrower II coil. The PerTronix distributor is also compatible with multi-spark CD ignition boxes. For more information contact PerTronix at(909) 599-5955 or www.pertronix.com.

If low is good, lower must be better, right? That's the motivation Speedway Motors used to develop its all-new, extra-low Model A frame. Speedway calls it the Model A Rat Rod Frame, but you can rest assured that it's no cobbled-together mix of worn-out parts. It's a professionally engineered and expertly constructed frame that makes a perfect foundation for a retro-style rod. The fabricated framerails feature sweeping front kickups to provide an extra-low stance, while a '32 Ford front crossmember, lightened shock mounts, and a Vega steering box mount make it simple to install front suspension. Triangulated ladder bars position the rear axle above the framerails to keep the back end equally low. The tubular rear crossmember accepts a '40 Ford leaf spring, which can be mounted in one of three different positions to fine-tune your ride height.
The small-block Chevy engine and TH350 transmission mounts position the engine oil pan even with the bottom of the frame. With 24-inch-tall front and 30-inch-tall rear tires, this chassis provides 4 1/2 inches of ground clearance. A hanging-style brake pedal is recommended due to the frame's extra-low ride height. By popular demand the famous Mooneyes half-sweep tachometer is available again in a "no logo" version. These tachometers were last offered in 2002, but repeated requests have resulted in their return. Identical to Mooneyes' best-selling MPG5000TM tach, except without the logo, the tach is built into a chrome cup with all the necessary hardware and brackets to mount it to your column or dash.
With an 8,000-rpm limit, and adjustable "redline" needle, a simple four-wire hookup makes the MPG5000T easy to install. For more information contact Mooneyes at (800) 547-5422 or www.mooneyesusa.com.
