In an age of fuel injection, the release of a new carburetor is rare, but Demon Carburetion has released the 625 Street Demon, engineered for hot rods with stock to mildly modified engines. Cast from aluminum, it fits square- or spread-bore-pattern intake manifolds without adapters. The Street Demon features two 1 3/8-inch primary throttle bores, which contain triple-stack boost venturii. Two of the boosters are suspended across the bores in the conventional way; the third integrated into the throttle bore wall to produce superior fuel emulsification.
A single fuel inlet ensures simple installation and two-stage metering rods accommodate most tuning requirements, without carburetor disassembly or removal. For cold starting, an electric-assist bimetal coil choke is provided. Street Demons are available in three forms: all aluminum tumble-burnished, tumble-burnished with polymer fuel bowl, and all-aluminum hand polished. For more information, contact Demon Carburetion at (270) 438-2039 or www.demoncarbs.com.

Crimping By Mail
When it comes to installing A/C or heater hoses, one of the biggest expenses is purchasing the crimping tool for the hose fittings. Check out the A/C install story on page 74 of this issue as an example. Well, Gotta Show Products, the only manufacturer of stainless steel A/C and heater fittings, just made things easier by announcing they’ll undertake free crimping and 500-pound pressure testing on all fittings they manufacture, for rubber or braided hose. Turnaround time is usually one business day for hoses that are properly cut, assembled, and marked.
Instructions for assembly come with every kit or may be downloaded from the company’s website. They will return ship at cost through UPS. For more information, contact Gotta Show at (602) 237-4506 or www.gottashow.com.
Braking Round Corners
Want hanging pedals rather than worrying about clearance issues with underfloor master cylinders, but don’t want the booster or cylinders on the outside of the firewall? Kugel Komponents offers a reverse-mount, 90-degree, hanging-style pedal assembly, and has been building these assemblies since 1996. The assembly is also compact, maximizing underdash space, and is compatible with power or manual brake systems. A smaller 180-degree non-power assembly is also offered and both units are available for brake and clutch or brake-only applications.
All master cylinders are available as standard or remote fill. The assembly shown features a 7-inch power booster (8 inch is also available), Corvette master cylinder, remote conversion lid, and optional slotted pedal arm. Dimensions and other available options—styles of pedal pads, remote fill reservoirs, and other brake accessories—can be seen at the company website. Kugel Komponents also manufactures independent front and rear suspension systems. For more information, contact Kugel Komponents at (562) 691-7006 or www.kugelkomponents.com.

Following up on the introduction of its very successful Bug Dome, OTB Gear introduces its latest defense against critters, small stones, loose screws, and other items that are not healthy additives for your engine. It’s called the Bug Horn.
Each is precision machined from premium aluminum alloy to fit solidly, and is secured with a stainless setscrew. OTB’s Bug Horn comes with their all-stainless mesh Bug Dome air screen, which is designed for minimal airflow restriction. The 2-inch-tall horn will slip over any of the popular Stromberg, Holley, or Ford two-barrel carbs. It is also available to fit the Rochester 2G carb. Classic Instruments has created a line of Holman Moody gauges. John Holman started out by dominating the racing world with Ford cars. Once a factory ban was put on auto racing, Holman teamed up with Ralph Moody to begin Holman Moody. They built 10 ’59 Thunderbirds that became the talk of Daytona. The pair began building engines for the Woods Brothers No. 21 cars, developed the box steel chassis for NASCAR racing, and ground cams for many other NASCAR teams. Currently, they do mechanical restorations specializing in Ford-powered racing cars, complete mechanical restorations, and much more.
With assistance and help from George Poteet, the new line of gauges is available directly through Holman Moody. The first set was fitted to the Ford Talladega built by Rad Rides by Troy, which was displayed at the Detroit Autorama in February. For more information, contact Holman Moody at (704) 583-2888 or www.holmanmoody.com.
From early Cad-swapped Model A’s to late-model, LS-powered street machines, engine swaps are the essence of hot rodding. With that in mind, Trans-Dapt Performance Products has unveiled a new line of engine swap motor mount kits and transmission crossmembers with rugged, ultra-durable polyurethane mounting pads. By resisting flex and deflection, polyurethane mounts channel more power to the tires than standard rubber mounts.
The motor mount kits are available for dozens of applications, featuring engine and chassis combination-specific designs. Kits include laser-cut steel brackets, polyurethane pads, and mounting hardware. Trans-Dapt also offers a wide variety of transmission crossmember kits with polyurethane pads, manufactured from 0.114-inch wall tubing, fully MIG-welded and including all necessary mounting hardware. Vehicle-specific crossmembers are available, while universal models are available for 700-R4, 4L60E, T56, and other transmissions in standard height or 3- or 6-inch drop. All are designed for use with 26- to 36-inch wide-open channel framerails. For more information, visit www.tdperformance.com.
Tube B Or Not Tube B

However, Butch’s Cool Stuff has introduced a new line of stainless steel tube grilles. All three designs of grille are floating made with 0.065-thick highly polished stainless steel tubing. For more information, contact Butch’s Cool Stuff at (937) 667-5544 or www.butchscoolstuff.com.
While it’s great having our tech center here at the office, it does mean I have to put up with comments from my coworkers about my ripped, knee-less dirty jeans when I’m working on my project cars. What I really need is a pair of these Twill Double-Front Work Pants from Carhartt! In wrinkle-resistant fabric with stain-repel-and-release finish, they have a permanent crease and sit slightly below the waist.
Made from eight 1.2-ounce, 65 percent polyester/35 percent cotton twill, they have a relaxed-fitting seat and thighs, and importantly for people like me, double knees. The leg openings are designed to fit over boots too. There’s a right-leg cell phone pocket and two back welt pockets with button closures and come in black, dark gray, khaki, and navy. Because this twill work wear is designed to be the best in its class, Carharrt even offers a guarantee. If you’re not happy, return the product within 30 days for a full refund! For more information, contact Carhartt at www.carhartt.com.
So you’ve made a nice exhaust system from polished stainless steel, and if you’re like most people, you left this part of your project until last and are now having trouble finding a pair of mufflers that will fit the confined spaces left under your car. Well, Stainless Specialties could have the solution to both these problems. Their new Mega Oval Mufflers are fabricated from 304 grade stainless, in plain or polished finish, and measure just 2 1/2 inches high and 6 1/2 inches wide. Standard length is 18 inches, but they can be made in any length.
Inside, dual, 1 3/4-inch perforated sections are wrapped with a high-temperature, sound-absorbing material that won’t burn out, the design offering excellent flow with a nice street rod sound. Inlets can be centered, offset to the same side or to the opposite side, and dual inlets or outlets are available too, with inlets available from 1 3/4 to 3 inches in diameter. For more information, contact Stainless Specialties at (423) 728-3300 or www.stainless-specialties.com.
Not everyone likes the traditional red and blue anodizing on AN hose ends and adapters, so Summit Racing Equipment has introduced its own brand of AN hose ends with a black hard-anodized finish. They are ideal for use in street-driven and race vehicles and look great when used with stainless steel braided hose or black-finish braided and smooth hose. Two types of AN ends and adapters are available. Swivel-style hose ends are reusable and can be rotated to make connections easier. The fittings are designed for use with most fuels, including alcohol and nitro methane, and are compatible with most brands of AN-type braided and smooth hose.
Twist-Tite Hose Ends are lighter and easier to use than traditional AN fittings. The NHRA-approved aluminum fittings have a socketless barb end—just slip Summit Racing’s Twist-Tite hose over the end and the connection is complete. Both types are available in straight, 45- and 90-degree configurations, and come in sizes from -4AN to -16AN. Summit also has its own brand of Braided Nylon and Twist-Tite hose in black. For more information, contact Summit Racing Equipment at www.summitracing.com.
