Building on the success of their popular Chevrolet systems, Eddie Motorsports has introduced a new line of S.drive serpentine pulley systems for 289-351W small-block Fords. Available in configurations with or without power steering and/or air conditioning, the compact Ford S.drive systems use pulleys and brackets CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum in Eddie Motorsports' Southern California manufacturing facility.
One part number gets you a complete kit, including a one-piece, billet aluminum timing cover that incorporates all of the required accessory mounting bosses. The S.drive systems also contain all of the necessary billet aluminum pulleys and stainless steel fasteners as well as namebrand components, including an Edelbrock water pump, Powermaster alternator, Gates tensioner, and six-rib serpentine belt. Sanden A/C compressor and Maval power steering pump are also included where applicable. Kits are also available to fit the 351 Cleveland engine. For more information, contact Eddie Motorsports at (888) 813-1293 or www.eddiemotorsports.com.
Putting The Band Back Together
You've seen Deeds Engineering's V-Band Clamps in these pages before, but they're now available in 2 1/4-inch diameter, as well as the previously available 2 1/2-, 3-, 3 1/2-, and 4-inch sizes. They're the cleanest and most effective way to make connections in an exhaust system, especially for tight-fit situations.
Each kit will make one union, with a 300 series stainless clamp and plated steel flanges for warping protection and a stainless appearance. With no gaskets, no leaks, quick removal, and simplified looks, if you're welding together an exhaust system, you'll immediately notice the improvement over old fashioned slip joints and U-bolts or bolt-together flanges. For more information, contact Deeds Engineering at (818) 842-2500 or www.deedsengineering.com.
The latest offering in Holley's modular intake series is this Modular Mid-Rise, utilizing the popular Holley LS1/LS2/LS6 cathedral port Mid-Rise 2x4 intake manifold along with a purpose-built plenum base adapter and a Holley 92mm EFI plenum top, which converts it into a Mid-Rise EFI intake manifold. With an overall height of only 10.44 inches, this manifold is an excellent choice for applications with a powerband from 1,500-6,500 rpm and limited hood clearance. It's perfect for a blow-through or turbocharged application.
As part of the Holley modular intake line, this intake is not only available as a complete kit with intake, adapter, 92mm top, and fuel rails, but all parts can also be purchased separately for a custom intake build. The plenum adapter will accept all of the popular Holley Hi-Ram plenum tops as a foundation for custom induction systems. For more information, visit Holley at www.holley.com.
Steel wheels are a staple of hot rodding, but using original Ford wheels limits you to 15- or 16-inch-diameter rims. Now there's an easy option if you want to go up to 17-, 18-, or even 20-inch versions. These new offerings from Circle Racing Wheels are not steel, but fully polished aluminum, though painted versions are also available, all with the appearance of early steelies. The range is called OE Polished.
Standard backspacing varies by size, though there is some flexibility in this, and special backspacing can be determined at the time of ordering. Bolt patterns available include 5-on-4.5, 4.75, 5, and 5.5, with widths of 7, 8, 9.5, and 11 inches in the 17- and 18-inch diameters, and 8 or 9.5 inches in the 20-inch diameter. For more information, contact Circle Racing Wheels at (559) 251-1127 or www.circleracing.com.
To The Point
If you do any TIG welding at all, you'll know the importance of having a perfectly sharpened tungsten electrode. HTP America does too, and has released two battery-operated tungsten grinders. Both offer precisely cut, flattened, and sharpened electrodes, with six speeds to choose from, ranging from 8,000 to 30,000 rpm, with a digital display.
The difference between the two is that one puts the perfect 22.5-degree point on the electrode, while the other is adjustable, allowing the angle of the point to be adjusted from 10 to 30 degrees. Standard or adjustable, both grinders come with 1/16-, 3/32-, and 1/8-inch collets, a carrying case with 110V charger, and two 12V lithium batteries. Both are also available as 110V models too, while all will certainly eliminate the contaminated grinding wheel most often used to sharpen electrodes! For more information, contact HTP America at (800) USA-WELD or www.usaweld.com.
Tri-ing Time For Fords
Patriot Exhaust Products has recently introduced a New Tri Y design header specifically to fit small-block Ford V-8 engines, tuck very tight to the engine, and achieve maximum ground clearance. These headers are a good alternative for a street rod application where space is at a premium and longer tubes for more power are a concern over common block huggers.
The headers are built with 5/16-inch-thick machined flanges at the cylinder head and three bolt outlet flanges. The oval port, under the chassis exit design, is made from 16-gauge tubing for durability with 1 5/8-inch primaries, 2 1/4-inch secondaries, and 2 1/2-inch collectors for increased horsepower and torque.
Supplied complete with header gaskets, bolts, and reducers, the headers are available in raw steel or Patriot's metallic ceramic coating for increased resistance to corrosion and thermal fatigue. For more information, visit Patriot Exhaust Products at www.patriotexhaust.com.
Flaming River has expanded its line of Keyless Ignition Systems to include a new “Hands Free” programmable unit that uses RFID proximity technology to automatically authorize your vehicle to start. The system can stand alone in any vehicle, or be integrated into any of their tilt columns in a paintable, black powdercoat, or polished finish. This new system is fully programmable to allow you to use your keyless entry/trunk release system, door poppers, or other popular remotely controlled accessories. A single fob can even be programmed to operate multiple vehicles.
Other convenient features include the ability to learn and recognize additional key fobs or replacement fobs, an emergency bypass mode that allows the vehicle to be started using a unique PIN, and a security lockout feature that prevents the system from being activated when the key fob is inside of the vehicle's proximity range. For more information, contact Flaming River at (800) 648-8022 orwww.flamingriver.com.
Despite being located behind the bumper on passenger cars, gravel shields seem to suffer from damage, as well as rust. The Filling Station has made reproductions available for the rear of '49-50 and '53-54 cars. Stamped from 18-gauge steel, they have the correct contours and holes, allowing for a perfect fit.
This panel fits between the rear bumper and the body, perfectly finishing an area of bodywork that has long been unavailable. For more information, contact The Filling Station at (800) 841-6622 or www.fillingstation.com.
