Nice Pipes

Gear Drive, of Minneapolis, has introduced a new cone for use on their line of lakes headers that closely resembles a 1935 Ford-style driveshaft tube. Many early hot rods used this driveshaft tube as the cone, and with the current popularity of traditional hot rods, the company felt it was time to bring it back!

Shown here on Gear Drive's Flathead Ford header, the option is available on all the company's lakes-style headers. For more information, contact Gear Drive at (641) 485-8075 or www.lakeheaders.com.

Just Fab!

The all-new Dynasty 280 and Maxstar 280 TIG welders, introduced by Miller Electric Mfg. Co., deliver more power and provide the ability to weld metal up to 3/8-inch thick, yet are significantly lighter, more portable, and use less energy than machines of similar output capabilities. Both are intended for industrial applications and heavy fabrication work, such as chassis construction, yet weigh 300 pounds less than the company's popular Syncrowave 250.

Both base models provide an operator-friendly interface for intuitive operation, while DX models include quick access to advanced features for expert users. Designed for upgrade flexibility, a memory card port is included on all models, allowing additional software to be downloaded. Both welders are designed for air- and water-cooled TIG torches, and can be coupled with a torch specifically designed and rated for the output of the machine. Better Bungs

Burns Stainless introduces a new design O2 sensor bung that provides maximum support to the sensor and tubing, minimizing cracking, especially with thin wall tubing. Available for 2-inch tubing for header primaries, or 3-inch for exhausts, the bungs are CNC machined from 304 stainless.

These rings are used extensively in NASCAR, NHRA, ALMS, and other professional race series. Without modification to the flanges, the rings will fit approximately 1/4-inch larger or smaller diameter tubing and will secure an 18mm sensor. Burns Stainless also offers straight cut and radiused O2 sensor rings for thick wall applications. For more information, visit Burns Stainless at www.burnsstainless.com.

LS Fan?

Are you running a truck-sourced LS engine but would like to use a regular mechanical cooling fan rather than be forced to use an electric fan? Stoker's Hot Rod Factory can now give you the option of doing just that with these water pump adapters.

Available in 1 3/8- and 2-inch lengths, the adapters thread onto the original water pump on these engines. For more information, contact Stoker's Hot Rod Factory at (855) 726-7101 or www.stokershotrodfactory.com.

Fueling The Fire

OTB Gear introduces a new fuel filter that is not only functional but offers show-quality looks as well. Features include a permanent washable stainless mesh filter that should last a lifetime and a very compact size. The bowl is only 2.4 inches in diameter, and the entire unit has a total height and width of just 4.25 inches. The complete filter projects from its mounting surface a mere 3 inches.

The inlet and outlet ports utilize ORB/AN-6 fittings that reduce the bulk of traditional hose connections. Drilled for 5/16-inch mounting hardware (not included), the filter is available in three styles, finned, smooth, and grooved, and each style is offered in either polished or satin finish.
