Phil Hill won the F1 Championship in 1961 with Team Ferrari, he was also the first American to win the 24 Hours of LeMans, a title he took home twice, and won the 12-hours of Sebring three times and countless other races. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, and friends.

I don't have huge amounts of cash so I just want to do some small upgrades. My crossmember seems to be pretty good and the car doesn't have lots of miles on it. I will go with new spindles and related peices while I'm doing the upgrade. I will later change out to an open rear end (disc brake, S-10) so I can use a t5 behind the stock six (which runs very strong) So what do you think? The left hand manifold had a "shelf" built into the front port, what is that for? 2. Where can I locate replacement bolts for the manifold to exhaust pipe flange? Also where can I locate bolts to secure it to the block? 3. The right hand manifold came with a spacer where the exhaust pipe ties in, is that needed or can I not use it? It is an original 1969 production car block which was recently bored .040 oversize. The guy I bought it from is a professional high perfromance Ford engine builder. He assembled the engine for me and shipped it to me. When I received the engine I noticed an apparant repair on the oil filter side of the engine block around the engine motor mount holes. It is a smooth patch extending from the bottom of the block up to the area of the mount holes. He assures me that it is an old repair that does not extend to the inside of the block. He said it might have been from a "freeze crack" caused by engine coolant freezing. He further assured me that this repair will not cause me any problems. I will not install and run the engine for possibly a year or so. Can an engine block be effectively repaired? Is there a way of testing it to be sure it won't cause a major failure. Should I run it now to be sure? I can send picures of the reaired area. Thanks.

I am also a "newbie" when it comes to creating a rod, albeit I have admired them for years. Regarding the hydraulic seats (and hydraulic windows), what is recommended for converting them to electric,i.e. no sense re-inventing the wheel when someone certainly has already done it. The engine and tranny are out of this car, and I will be eventually putting a chev 350 with 700R4 transmission in it. Any syggestions regarding that process, rear end changeout, etc. would be appreciated. First I have to get it rolling. Back to the hydraulic seat...I will first need to get it back away from the steering wheel so I can climb in (I am a big cat). Is there a manual method to move it, or do I have to get a 6 V battery and do some re-wiring? Lastly, are there back issues of R & C that goes thru any of this? Thanks, JJRJR

After so many years of sacrifices I managed to buy (my great dream) the Chevy Truck 57 with the roof down. But when it came to my house looked good and I saw that the chassis is not made good (unfortunately the seller was not very honest). Now I want to begin the restoration starting from its chassis. You can tell web sites where can I order a new chassis for my truck and have it send in Italy without having to spend a lot of money? (I am not a millionaire) but a great enthusiast. Thank you all for help.

I am going to have fenders on the back. Stock rear is about 52 inches so I guess 54 inches might do it. Does anybody have any data on GM rear end lengths and ratios from maybe 1964-1974 or anything that would work for my coupe?
