Here are two completed torque converters for the 700-R4. The larger unit is the stock diameter of 298 mm and has a maximum efficient stall speed of about 2,500 rpm. The smaller converter is a custom 245mm lockup, which has been built to achieve a 3,000-rpm stall speed and still retain full lockup function. Phoenix uses a custom clutch and damper that has 25 percent more clutch area than even the larger 298mm clutch system.
