With the old headers removed I installed the new starter, measured the temperature of both the solenoid and starter casing after running the motor for 15 minutes again (this picture is somewhat out of sequence as I had to fit the new headers and fabricate a section of exhaust system first) then wrapped it with a starter heat shield from Thermo Tec, which reflects 90 percent of heat, before measuring the temperature again.
