I know it may seem a little late in the project to start welding in the interior, but I'd waited to install the Dynamat before fabricating these parts of the inner roof structure, as it'd be impossible to install the insulation with them in place. Apart from "finishing" off the roof structure, these panels are needed to mount the headliner bows. I'm not sure cardboard will be strong enough though. View Related Article
