For the most part, white, blue, and blue-green LEDs operate at 3.6 V; most other colors, like this red one, operate at 2 V. Most will live forever with 20-25 mV. LEDs will produce nearly maximum light at slightly less power so seven of these red LEDs wired in series would work perfectly if fed a full 13.6 V. A potentiometer (an adjustable resistor) can also be wired in the series as a dimmer to create immortal instrument lights, among other things. View Related Article
