All threaded holes have a bottom tap run into them to assure clean threads and the ports are checked for any possibility of loose casting flash remnants or edges that need a light de-burring. They are not porting the manifold—just checking for loose edges leftover from the machining process that could break free and enter the engine. View Related Article
