There are two items of note here. First, I welded the crossmember to the chassis rails as this will be hidden under the new spring mounts, and the joint was already weakened by someone previously grinding the tops off the factory rivets. Secondly, I used a 1-inch hole saw to drill the top of the framerail to allow clearance for the bottom of the bolt that holds the spring leaves together. View Related Article
