Displacing 221 ci, there were a few different versions: In 1932 the front of the block was solid, where all the other blocks have a recessed area; in 1936, Ford came out with the first insert main bearing block; and from 1932-36 the water pumps were in the heads—in 1937 they put the water pumps in the block and moved the water outlet to the center of the head.
