Seeing as we’re using a new cast-iron crank from Scat, the only prep it needed was the previous balancing; a stock Ford crank may require thorough cleaning of its internal oiling passages. If everything’s within tolerances, which they were, the rear main seal is carefully installed prior to setting the crank.
