Load the rear axle with it on jackstands (the jackstands shown don’t quite touch the chassis in this photo) to set pinion angle. Remember that for vibration-free operation, pinion angle is the exact opposite of the transmission output angle. So if the transmission points down 3 degrees, point the pinion up 3. Forget the pinion-down thing; that’s to counter axle wrap in leaf-sprung drag cars.
