[15] I like to drill the double-D shaft just slightly to provide a countersink for the set screw to locate in. Once the set screw is installed, even if it loosens slightly, the shaft cannot slide out. There’s no danger of this in this particular installation, but in steering linkages with multiple joints, it can happen. View Related Article
