The Ford equivalent to the 4L80-E is the massive E4OD. It’s not used much in the street rodding world because it’s so big and heavy. Says Jet’s Paul Darden of his own E4OD unit, “You’d almost have to engineer the car around the transmission.” Alternatives include using the (smaller) 4L80-E with a bellhousing adapter plate or outfitting a Ford C6 with a Gear Vendors overdrive.
