“When I met Don Long he had a successful chassis business. But he wanted to elevate it to the next level, like I wanted to elevate my engine business. So he and I got together. Don said, ‘I’m going to build you a car, you furnish the engine, you run the car … I don’t want to have anything to do with running the car other than it representing my chassis business and your engine business.’ Don built The Old Master dragster for me, and the first driver was Mike Snively. It was a winner right from the start. It won a lot of races and pushed me over the hump as far as the engine business and Don Long the same in the chassis business. Everyone wanted his chassis. If you had a Don Long dragster and an Ed Pink engine you were a killer.” View Related Article
