Tommy’s roadster pickup (OK T-bucket) with its Nailhead Buick and gearbox would be the hot tip today. Max Balchowsky ran premium whitewalls on “Old Yeller”, which he road-raced because they gripped better. Balchowsky didn’t care about looks, but Tommy did, and got looks and grip at the same time.
