No backyard project here: Before construction began, Lynn Yakel—an aviation design engineer, fellow hot rodder, racer, and friend—fashioned a model of the streamliner. Eddie Miller of Edco Brake shaped the aluminum body. Plywood bulkheads were used to outline the skin.
