The late Mark Dees, who crewed for Lanthorne & Gray, wrote of the experience, Our first trip to the salt was a day behind schedule, the coupe having been painted at the last minute in white primer. My folks came through in fine style, with my mom loaning us the Hudson [pickup] and my dad, a drum of methanol. Hop Up magazine ran a photo of the car in the Nov. 51 issue.
